What to do with our hands during the Our Father and the sign of peace

We received a question about what to do with our hands during the Our Father and there is no conclusive answer. Many sources say it is up to the Local Bishop and others give no clear answer. From all that I have read, the best answer is to do whatever feels comfortable to you while still maintaining reverence.  Please do not be offended if someone does not want to hold your hand as we all come from different backgrounds. It is also permissible to pray with your hands open and mimic what the priest is doing. Some say that we are lifting are prayers up in this posture. Others state that it reminds us that we possess nothing as it all belongs to God.

During the Sign of Peace should you shake hands, hug, kiss or do something else?  Again it is up to your personal preference.  Different cultures do all of the above. Again just remain respectful and remember where you are.

There is another posture that we should also focus on: The Creed. During the creed, after the line "For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven," At the words that follow, up to and including "and became man, all bow. If you notice the priest bows down and so should everyone in the congregation.

These questions have been great, please keep them coming.
